All time favorite? Might be, regardless of price! Absolutely a beautiful combo of salt, smoke and sweet (sweet savory like a ham cooked with a good amount of brown sugar) with a barely there but long smoke/seaweed finish. Incredibly smooth with such bold flavors. If you love smoke buy this by the barrel. If you aren’t sure then buy a bottle. If you don’t like smoke but never had this then find a friend and try it. If you have had this and you don’t like it then invite me over and I’ll drink it for you.

Thought it was great that Lagavulin went this way for a limited anniversary dram. Went through one bottle and had to search a bit to fine it again and bought the 3 bottles they had left. One of my favorites I’ve had ever. Heavy on the peat smoke, but light and beautiful with a bit of minty finish (if I look for it at least). I’ve only had Lag 16 once but this reminds me of it if a bit sharper. Overall a great at any reasonable price but out of this world at the ~$55 they are charging for it. Get it while you can if you like smoke or Lagavulin

Little smoke, decent amount of pear/apple but mainly its sweet with a touch of smoke and salt. It’s good but not out of this world. It’s biggest issue for me may have been that I expected so much but for ~$36 it is an excellent whiskey though for about $10-15 more (in my area) there are many many more ingesting and better options.
