Vanilla & Honey on the front, some citrus and leather on the middle, a spicy rye kick on the finish. Ends a little thin, but a medium length cinnamon burn keeps reminding you. Much preferred to OF 86, a little more complex than Statesman, better than 1910 to me. A nice addition to any bar, and a decent everyday sipper, in the same price range and rye profile as McKenna BIB and 4R SiB.30.0 USD per Bottle

Booker's Bourbon Batch 2018-04 "Kitchen Table"
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 21, 2019 (edited January 28, 2020)Caramel & Brown Sugar BOMB! Kentucky Chew is my favorite bottle from the last 2 years, but this one is probably the favorite for my wife. I get a full frontal assault of caramel and baking spice that rolls right into an explosion of brown sugar. The finish is medium and barely warm. This is probably the least spicy Bookers I have ever tried. My wife loves it.70.0 USD per Bottle -
Old Forester 1920 Prohibition Style
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 4, 2018 (edited February 23, 2019)This is easily my favorite OF bottle to date! This is the higher proof OF you have been looking for. Still has the familiar OF Rye spiciness, but also has a caramel and brown sugar for days, and a much oilier mouth feel (which I love). Highly recommended! -
Weller Special Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 12, 2018 (edited April 17, 2021)Let me start by saying, I am not a huge fan of wheated bourbons. Most tend to give me a weird mint after-taste that I don't care for. Taste is subjective, my wife does not experience this taste sensation. YMMV. For an entry level wheated bourbon, it's hard to go wrong with this bottle. It captures the smooth, silky, caramel, vanilla, brown sugar front that made wheat legendary. The middle is silky, not quite creamy, and still sweet. The finish is thin and quick, a hint of baking spice (and for some, a bit of a mint after taste). All in all, not a bad pour if the taste profile appeals to you.32.0 USD per Bottle -
I have a bottle of 10 Year old White Label 91 Proof (my second, I didn't capture the batch/bottle of my 1st). Decent sipper, but the price/complexity ratio is off for me. It costs $80-$90 in my location, and it drinks more like a $40-$50 bottle. I also have a May 2018 Jane's Addiction Private Selection Single Barrel 12 year 99 proof. Again, a $90-$100 bottle that is decent enough, but at this price range, there are more complex bottles I would choose. Both bottles appreciate a 5-10 minute breath after pouring. Normally that is something I only require for wine finished barrels, or the real hotties > 130 proof.

Belle Meade Cask Strength Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Indiana (bottled in Tennessee), USA
Reviewed August 30, 2018Drinks HOT, especially the finish. Not a bad dram, but not overly complex. A couple of drops of water will sweeten it up a bit, but finish remains hot. I would rather save up for a bottle of their Single Barrel.60.0 USD per Bottle -
Chaos is a good description. If you like Old Potrero, you will like this. If you don't like Old Potrero, you aren't going to like this. The one recurring adjective that comes to my mind when tasting this, or any other Potrero is: young. It has that young, unaged, unrefined whiskey taste, especially on the finish.

Batch 16 Bottle 752 - Medium legs in glass. Sniffer is shot, totally dead today, I'm afraid. Front is all honey with a little grass, middle brings out the vanilla and rye bread and cloves. Finish brings smoke, a little white pepper, and a little oak. Very short. Mouth feel is very thin, nothing to chew here. Not quite sweet enough for my wife, no where near spicy enough for me. This will end up being a mixer bottle for us. I have a later batch that I will open and review when this one is done.45.0 USD per Bottle
