Tastes

Quirky independent light whiskey blend matured in bourbon & oloroso barrels. Hints of citrus/dried fruits which is quite mellow and a pleasant but little too short a finish. Very light burn, not overpowering, I tried it neat but possibly would benefit from a drop of water next time round. Pretty unique scent reminds me of sour cream and chive! A little pricey but as an indie I let them away with it. Aesthetically it has a nice quirky design which is a departure from the typical Irish Whiskey style and a bottle more similar to Japanese styles with individually inscribed batch numbering on each bottle & tube. Probably sounds stupid but the purist in me would like to see a cork rather than a screw cap. I think this is only available in Ireland, well worth checking out if you can. Possibly 3.5 star review but I'm feeling generous and have a soft spot for the indie bottlers. Two more releases to come in the future which I shall be checking out.

I think the taste and aroma have been well covered in other reviews so what I'll say is I was debating whether to a give 4.5 or 5 star when I cast my mind back to when I bought this, after finishing my first sample I instantly went back for another and stuck with it all night rather than moving on to another whiskey. After just having one now to leave this review I'm reminded to pick up the 14 & 18 year Single Malts from Tullamore DEW

Smooth and fruity little number at a good price. Great choice for anyone looking to branch out from entry level whiskies, well worth spending a little extra for a damn fine whiskey
