Four Roses Limited Edition Single Barrel Bourbon (2013)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 2, 2020Bottled hot at 63.2%, appropriate for the category, but you do feel the heat. The nose gives away the high rye mash, and the spice carries through. Almost a mild funk in there, which I enjoy. A couple drops of water really extended the finish. I had the good fortune of finishing off a bottle from barrel 3-4Q at Copper & Oak in New York. -
Craigellachie Exceptional Cask Series 19 Year Single Cask
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed December 18, 2019 (edited May 20, 2020)Rich and savory with plenty of nuts and raisins on the palette, burnt toffee on the nose. Despite being over 100 proof, it isn't particularly hot and sips very smoothly. -
Booker's Bourbon Batch 2019-02 "Shiny Barrel Batch"
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 18, 2019 (edited October 19, 2019)Plenty of heat with some toffee. Heavier mouthful. Some spice and almost savory. A couple drops of water brought out richer chocolatey notes. -
1792 Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 5, 2019 (edited September 11, 2020)A rich, complex bourbon at a great price point. Hints at burnt orange peels were appealing to me. The more I drink this one, the more I like it. I scan the bar or liquor store for it now.
