Way less spicy or hot than I would have expected from a 100-proof, high rye bourbon. Not sweet, but not too spicy either. Just very flavorful. I agree with the comments about an "oily" texture, in a good way. And I do get some cherries on the finish.

Very grain-forward. The nose was very "scotchey" to me. One of the stranger tasting bourbons I've had. Not hard to drink though. I guess I'm tasting the youth of the bourbon.

Try not to let the price fool you. It's good but probably over aged. Lots of tannic wood notes in the finish that won't go away. Easy to drink though.

Rye spice is prominent. Seems hotter than other 100 proof bourbons I've had. Dry finish. A few drops of water tamed it but it was still dry and spicy. Nothing wrong with it though. It's just not for fans of sweet, easy-drinking whiskeys.
