Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 1, 2023 (edited March 2, 2023)Nose: Pear/apple skin with a touch of maple syrup Taste: Rye spice start with pepper and fruit notes, a bit oily. Some oak and just a hint of brown sugar. Finish: Longer than expected and very pleasant. Great value for a single barrel. Higher rye content than most bourbons- would be a good way to introduce a new whiskey enthusiast to a less sweet/higher spice bourbon. Compared to say buffalo trace, even a new drinker should get “Sweet” notes from BT and “Spice” notes from Four Roses Single Barrel.
