Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage 2012
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 22, 2021 (edited April 23, 2021)*disappointed trombone noise* This was actually the first EW variety that I didn’t care for much. The nose had green apple and a fair bit of oak. The palate was pleasant at first but then gave way to a tannic, oaky unpleasantness. The finish was my favorite part- big vanilla notes with lingering candy corn. Not atrocious but not a quality SiB pick in my opinion. -
This is the definition of a friends-with-benefits whiskey. I wouldn’t be caught dead taking Mellow Corn to the prom; but she’s always there for me in between pay checks when I text “hey, u up?” on a Friday night. Much like a blockbuster action movie, this liquor doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not. It’s not elegant, but the sweet corn flavor is as Americana as it comes. Everyone should try it at least once!

Larceny Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 7, 2021 (edited May 10, 2021)Sweet nose with lots of banana notes. Palate starts sweet and gives way to baking spice. The finish, although short, has a very pleasant taste of vanilla cake.
