Jack Daniel's Single Barrel 100 Proof Bottled in Bond
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed June 22, 2021Wow… this is one hell of a whiskey. Definitely the best Jack I’ve ever had… I’d take it over Sinatra (had a bottle and killed half of it). My friend picked it up at the Duty Free in London on the way home, and I am blessed to have it. It’s very robust and full of sweet caramel, baking spice, and candy corn, with a nice long butterscotch finish… and it lingers forever. That higher proof over the standard 94 proof makes a huge difference to me. I will cherish the hell out of this bottle, both for the story, and the amazing profile.60.0 USD per Bottle -

Heaven's Door Highway 61 Blend
Blended American Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed June 3, 2021 (edited September 15, 2021)Honestly... every liquor store and their neighbor has a single barrel of it. Seems like a relatively simple bourbon rye blend. Literally everything they touch has ratings through the roof, it’s literally Mr. Bob Dylan himself’s brand, and there’s about half a billion single barrels... so why is it so readily available? Affordable? And why is no one digging into it? We’ll probably one of the main questions you have to ask, literally every store has a single barrel, which one is best? I sprung for one that meant something to me... Loyalty Liquors in the colony in north Texas did a collab with folds of honor, donating proceeds to fallen veterans and their loved ones... I am a loved one of a fallen veteran so it had that extra sentimental value... I felt it (my dads love) as I was swiping my card on this honestly really beautiful whiskey... got it home and busted it open. Relatively low proof, so it drinks honestly refreshing with nice corn and sweetness in the front and back, and light cinnamon vanilla holding the body together. My takeaway is that it is a really great solid whiskey, drinks easy for anyone who wants it, and has an awesome story/backing. It’s not some incredibly juice that I think I struck absolute gold on, but I’d come back to it, and I’d never turn it down if offered. I’m glad I got this bought because it means more to me symbolically than what the corn and rye juice inside might represent. Worth drinking and having ready to go whenever you want a good sipper to help get through life.55.0 USD per BottleLoyalty Liquors -
Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Batch Proof 128.3
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 29, 2021 (edited January 22, 2022)One of the best high proof whiskeys I’ve tasted. Also, because I’m a cheapskate, tied for one of the most expensive bottles I’ve ever bought. Was super hesitant, but thought “what the hell? How often am I really going to get to try this...?” Was one hell of a decision. Huge spicy fruit with that sexy burn reminiscent of a well aged bookers in the nose. Immediately pounds the tongue with spiced caramel but evens out into a long smooth finish. Could tell it’s a high proof but a masterfully made high proof... now the challenge is not drinking the whole bottle all at once.130.0 USD per BottleGoody Goody Liquors Inc. -
Riverset Straight Rye Whiskey Barrel Strength
Rye — Tennessee , USA
Reviewed May 27, 2021 (edited May 22, 2023)The first bottle of rye I have bought for myself in a long time. It looked pretty on the shelf, had a cool gold sticker that said “hand selected for Texas (my new state of residency), and had a very solid price of $40 (that’s my what the hell price... if it’s garbage, I don’t feel like I got ripped off). I definitely did NOT get ripped off. Very mellow on the nose, with slight spiced bread... then you sip it. It starts off very delicate for what it is. I was about to be disappointed... then it hit. Heat, spice, potency... arousal. It was like standing in the street waiting for the parade, wondering where the hell they were, and immediately being trampled, but enjoying it. The parade (or finish) lasts forever after it comes, giving a long spicy cornbread with hints of nutmegged toffee after taste. This is a great rye for the price with lots of flavor, you just have to be patient and let it expose itself. Glad I picked it up. Will sip slow and long.40.0 USD per BottleShellman’s Fine Wines & Spirits Too
