WhistlePig The Boss Hog IX: Siren's Song
Rye — (bottled in) Vermont, Canada
Reviewed March 10, 2023 (edited November 13, 2023)Incredible. Super complex and a wide variety of flavors. This may be my favorite Rye because of how unique this was. The tentura barrels definitely gave it plenty of different fruits. The nose was so vibrant, you'd think they couldn't pack any more flavors into the palate. Yet, the palate had so many hints of dried fruit and clove. Lots of cinnamon and fig like a fig newton flavored whiskey. The finish was so big and kept coming in the form of caramel and fruit. Well worth the price in my opinion! -
I thought it was pretty aggressive for being aged 15 years. Lots of that charred barrel finish. I tasted what i thought was honey and it had plenty of cherry on the nose and on the palate. I had hints of vanilla all throughout. All together decent Bourbon, not worth secondary market price, but hey we tasted it once!
