139.4 proof. Smell is surprisingly light, less alcohol sting than I expected. I get some oak, tea, charred marshmallows. Great spice on the palate, it kicks you in the face. but gently, with velvet slippers. Balanced wit the right amount of sugar and spice. Deep flavor that sticks to the back of your throat. Apple pie, cinnamon, salted butter, dark chocolate, nutmeg, praline. Fantastic. Nice hug. 4/14/18

Yellowstone Kentucky Straight Bourbon Finished in Charred Wine Casks (2017 Limited Edition)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 14, 2018Charred wine casks, immediately evident in the color. Some brown sugar and wood in the nose. Smells like warmth on a brisk autumn night. On the palate, smooth for the proof. Very drinkable. Layered, with caramel, dough, tea, and a bit of smoke. Not getting too much wine, maybe some fruit. Decent finish. Very nice. 4/14/18 -
Very Old Barton 100 Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 14, 2018 (edited April 24, 2018)80 proof version. Smells slightly boozy, but with sweet fruit and cinnamon. Smooth and light, with pleasant baking spice that lingers. Not very deep (and not as flavorful as the 100 proof version, unsurprisingly), but drinkable with no harsh notes. 4/14/18 -
