Nose: Surprising smoke. Palate: weirdly bitter. Wonder if I got a bad bottle.

Nose: smoke. Palate: smoke, campfire, light body.

Such an amazing experience. Tucked away behind my other bottles so it doesn't disappear too quickly. N: complex peat and sweetness. Over time, salt and honey. Palate: ultra savoury, bacon, rich. Coats the mouth. Finish: dry - pepper, iodine, bitter chocolate.

A gigantic wallop on first nosing, as you'd expect from a young Laphroaig. N: Shortbread, applewood, salt, caramelized beef, bacon. P: Elegant sweetness, then brine, salty, campfire ash and plastic as you hold it on your tongue. F: more campfire, bandaids, burned green leaves, touch of cocoa. It ends a bit hot when neat. It's easy to pull a lot of interesting flavours from this dram.

Sweet and smoky, smooth and rich.
