Glenfiddich 14 Year Bourbon Barrel Reserve
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed December 1, 2022Airport scotch, best looking thing on the menu. Barrel taste is stronk. Mild smoke (for a scotch I mean!). Charred wood. Oak flavor lingers a long time too. Not getting the apple or grape aspects of a regular glennfiddich, some cherry notes though. Tasty malt flavor. -
Bruichladdich The Classic Laddie Scottish Barley
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed June 14, 2022Good barley taste. High alcohol. Spicy. Very bright tasting. Floral. Too bright and harsh for my taste. Maybe missing the peat? I'd like to try the sherry version. -
Nose is wood, fruit like red apples. A little bit of smoke. Not much sweetness. Tasteis smoooooth but still pretty complex. At first it's just smooth, then peat then wood the peat then fruit. Lots of shifting gentle flavors on the finish and the finish lasts for a long time. Hard to name all the finish flavors. Smooth whiskey isn't really my thing but damn.

Jura 10 Year
Peated Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed December 21, 2020 (edited September 5, 2021)Pretty good, citrus and some lemon at first smell. Then the vanilla came out once I started sniffing for it. Somewhat spicy and sweet on the taste. Pretty sure I taste the sherry barrel on the finish. Would really like to try this >40% -
Glenmorangie Lasanta Sherry Cask Finish 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed December 1, 2020 (edited December 5, 2020)Nose is full of the Sherry cask. Maybe a bit of smoke. Oranges. Wood. Something else I can't place, pear? Green grapes? Green olive? Maybe some brine? Taste is a fast smoke kick and then a really nice spicy woody complexity. Very subtle bright fruit notes. But mostly the wood that evolves briefly and leaves a real nice woody linger on your tongue. Lightly warm on the way down. -
Aerstone Land Cask 10 Year
Peated Single Malt — Scotland
Reviewed December 1, 2020 (edited December 6, 2020)Not bad. Great aroma. Smoke smoke smoke. Taste is fairly weak for a scotch with mild smoke, not too many woody notes, sharp alcohol. Makes a great scotch n soda though. Better than it should be for the price. I suppose. But scotch doesn't deserve that attitude :p24.0 USD per Bottle
