Tastes

What a whiskey. Blackcurrant, while, engine oil. There's another flavor floating around that I can't pinpoint. The finish just lingers for days.

Subtle fruits and spice. The base whiskey is solid enough to carry through the apricot brandy casks. Tastes like your sucking the stone of a delicious apricot.

Beautiful thick mouthfeel, so oily on the palate. Doesn't taste like 64% at all. Honey, golden syrup leads with the spiciness of the pot still coming through. Finishes with with tart under ripe apples. Solid whiskey.

Burnt molasses, green apples, freshly cut grass on the nose. Fairly complex tastes for a blend, the peat addition really rounds out the flavour. Sweet, spicy, would work as a dram or a mixer.

Its a peat monster, but somehow has a mellow tasting profile. Smells and tastes like you're at an southern BBQ. Lovely sweet finish though.

Caramel and burnt toffee. Oily sherry flavours, finishing very spicy. Lovely sweetness comes after letting it linger in the mouth (or adding a drop of water). Very much a dessert whiskey, I'd only sip one or two but would thoroughly enjoy each one. Coffee, demerara sugar on the nose.

Apple pastry, digestives and almond (macarons?) on the nose. Lovely colour coming through from the sherry. Almost hints of cream liquor/baileys on the nose. Really phenomenal whiskey on the nose. Much chewier in mouthfeel than the 12, leather and wood spice on the initial taste. Dark chocolate flavours, earthy tannic, roasted nut skins as the initial flavour mellows out. Really nice whiskey, a lot more complexity and depth than the 12. Nice long finish.

Sherry influence, with big dry unripe plums coming to the fore. Very spicy, dry burnt fruits come in after the initial taste. Almost boiled sweets on the finish. The tart dry finish linger for a while. Very solid whisky, not overly complex but very typical of a sherry speyside whiskey. Cherries and plums on the nose.

Port and red wine on the nose. Morphs into rum flavours as soon as it hits your lips. Lovely dram. Brilliant tannins suck the liquid off your tongue. Blackberries and summer berries come in and out of focus.

Very much a mellowing of the 14 year old. The oranges&citrus have transformed into candied fruits and dried fruits giving it a Christmas cake feel. Bit long finish, cherries and poached plums. Lovely whiskey.
