Jack Daniel's Twice Barreled American Single Malt (2022 Release)
American Single Malt — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed January 14, 2023Nose is charred new oak, sherry, berries, and plum. Palate is okay for a single malt. Sherry and cereal which is surprising from a JD label. Not a huge fan but good first effort on an ASM for them. -
Parker's Heritage Heavy Char Wheat Whiskey 11 Year
Wheat Whiskey — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 14, 2023Alcohol filled nose, very nice palate, wet cardboardy and nail polishy finish. Okay, maybe will get better as the bottle sits since this was a neck pour. -
Just wonderful. Peaty, smoky, not yet ripe green fruits. Like orchard fruit in July. Too early to eat but really enticing :). Anjou pears, green apples, Asian pears - delicious. Palate is peat, spice, and fruity sweetness. Finish is lingering campfire smoke and slightly bitter sweetness. Huge fan. Right up my alley. Gonna get my hands on more compass box. The end all be all is not single malt.

Chemically, high pitched peat, and ground after rain on the nose. Some smokeiness as well. More vegetal, earthy, peat smoke than the other bbq style smoke from other ardbegs on the palate. Intense ashtray smoke and peat on the finish. Overall, fairly sanitized tasting like a hospital. Funky and unique.
