A good mate brought a bottle of the chipher over last night for a drink. We really enjoyed this & had a bit of fun comparing our tasting notes. On the nose vanilla sweet floral a touch of sherry. The palate more sweetness honey & a little caramel at some stage this definitely spent some time in sherry casks as you can taste it. The finish was pleasantly long & warm. I really enjoyed this & might get another bottle for the collection

My favourite scotch whisky to date I am so disappointed that the suntory/beam group have decided to discontinue the 18. This is such a lovely balanced drink when I first tasted the 18 I nearly went through half the bottle while smoking a nub maduro cigar. The drink that made me fall in love with laphroaig. Lucky I bought 4 bottles but wish I bought more

My favourite distillery the px cask is alot milder than what you may expect from laphroaig but it's a lovely change from the norm. On the nose you get a light earthy peat as well as a sweet spice like cinnamon & nutmeg as well as a touch of sherry. On the palate i get a smooth dram again with a lovely Balance of peat & sherry sweetness. The finish medium in length sweet the peat is alot weaker here although I do get a touch of spice & saltiness. Overall I love this dram the hard core peat heads may not but it's a lovely summer dram & ive been enjoying it on our Australian summer nights slainte!!
