Henry McKenna 10 Year Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 15, 2016 (edited November 11, 2016)Caramel corn and light toasted oak on the nose. Sweet taste with some light brown sugar, caramel, and a touch of darker fruits. Spicey finish with barrell char in a medium to long finish. Good budget bourbon. -
Average to below average bourbon. Some floral notes on the nose. There is some vanilla, butterscotch and charred oak in the taste. A couple drops of water opens this up. Body is on thinner side. Finish is medium with more observance of alcohol than flavor. Should be priced in the $20 range; not worth more than that.

Rebecca Creek Fine Texas Spirit Whiskey
Spirit — Texas, USA
Reviewed May 4, 2016 (edited July 12, 2016)Nose of caramel, cream and light smoke. Thinner body; sweeter taste. The flavor is not distinct in any way. Touch of spice towards the finish, which is short to mid. Best mixed with 7 Up. Not top shelf; but a bit above bottom shelf swill. -
Sonoma County Distilling Co. 2nd Chance Wheat Whiskey
Wheat Whiskey — California, USA
Reviewed May 3, 2016Nose of wheat and prairie in bloom. Very young whiskey. Taste starts sweet, quickly moves to spice. Whiskey is a little thin. Finish is terrible; medium with aspects of paint thinner mixed with wheat and spice. This whiskey could use a lot more time in the barrell before bottling. Best not to drink neat; works better as a mixer. Should be bottom shelf price point. It is definitely not worth premium pricing.
