Tastes

Very light-- not heavy and oily like the Grant's Family Reserve. Some plum or raisin with a hint of vanilla. I really like it for the $15 USD.

Alcohol smacks your nose at first! Then, cherry and vanilla nose. Cherry taste up front. A tad vanilla after. Then it leaves way too cinnamon and peppery burn. Maybe clove? Some buttery tastes, maybe a toffee. Medium mouth feel. Not bad.

First high rye bourbon. I get caramel taste with some baking spice burn as the whiskey sits on my tongue. The burn continues throughout the beginning of a long finish and leaves way to a vanilla and orange flavor at the end. Very vanilla nose. Maybe some cherry, but more cherry pie. I like it a lot.

Neat out of a stemless wine glass. Nose: fruity, apple (red delicious) maybe some caramel Taste: sweet and creamy up front. Strong taste of vanilla and a hint of toffee. A bit of spice, but just a hint. Finish has a lingering hint of vanilla and a short sense of spice.

I could smell vanilla and caramel, maybe some cinnamon (this is my second bourbon.) I could taste vanilla, toffee, caramel, and a bit of cinnamon on the finish. And, I loved it!

A vanilla nose with a lot of spice on the tongue. Much smoother for me with a splash of water.
