Tastes

Initial taste was harsh spicy flavor combined with medium to strong smoke. Initially not a fan but added a few drops of water which had a significant change. Now tastes a mild sweet fruits, the spicy transitioned to a pleasant black pepper, and the smoke was toned down. Flavor reminded me a peppered smoked bacon.

Not a fan of this one. Immediately hit and spicy, feeling similar to a high proof or younger whiskey. Overwhelmed much of the initial taste. Even tried it with two and four drops of whiskey, which didn’t seem to make much change. Flavor lingered for a while, finally toning down the heat and get a touch of fruit flavor, but mostly seemed like sucking on a jalapeño.

Initial flavors of apricot, peaches, and other stone fruit, transitioning to spicy pepper on the back of the tongue. Added two drops of water which sweetened the initial flavor and mellowed and spiciness.

Initial favors of sweet fruit and berries transition into hot spice and pepper. Tried adding two drops of water which toned down both aspects and brought out some leather and oak flavors.

Very mild flavors of fruit and sweetness, followed by a peppery alcohol burn. Mild lingering flavor, but mainly just a slight afterburner. Added two drops of water which didn’t really change notes significantly. Limited flavor from an obviously young whiskey.

Sweet, mild flavor of fruits, toffee, and peppermint. Eventually tastes of oak and subtle smoke come through in the back of the mouth. Medium to short lingering in the mouth bring back over ripe fruits and oak. Pleasant, smooth, but not overly complex. Picked this up in a six-pack of miniature ‘Lost Distillery Set’ at a whisky shop in Waverly Station, Edinburgh.
