Distiller's Pure True Handcrafted Original Master's Small Batch Reserve
Other Whiskey — USA
Reviewed April 30, 2017Tastes like rotten oak and smelly leather boots. Not worth the $420 asking price. -
Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 13, 2017 (edited June 4, 2017)Sweet with a strong, full vanilla flavor. Goes down smoothly. Some oak, tobacco, and tinges of citrus and hazelnut. Finish is strong and short. Solid mixer, but definitely a sipper as well. Great for the price! -
Jack Daniel's Gentleman Jack
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed April 13, 2017 (edited May 8, 2017)Marginally better than Jack. Offers a very palatable smoothness, but not much else. Rotten bananas and subtle nutmeg notes. Not a very deep palate, and has a strange artificial aftertaste. Just like with regular Jack, it's not worth the price. -
Kessler American Blended Whiskey
Blended American Whiskey — USA
Reviewed April 2, 2017 (edited August 20, 2024)My first whiskey. Not a great first impression. Thankfully I learned that things could only go up from here. Strong ethanol nose and flavor. Tastes minimally of burnt nuts and vanilla with a lingering, bitter finish.
