Macallan 18 Year Sherry Oak Cask
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed August 2, 2017 (edited September 12, 2017)Geekfest 2. Smooth like water, rich with port flavors, all-around wonderful and delicious. Not at all peaty, even a little. One of my favorite whiskies. -
Balvenie Portwood 21 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed August 2, 2017 (edited September 7, 2017)Geekfest 3. Rougher than the Mac 18, but Bill liked since he thought it was peatier. Taste improved with chilling. Flavor seemed more complex than Mac 18. Impression that there were more flavors than we could fully appreciate. -
Glenlivet 21 Year Archive
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed August 2, 2017 (edited October 27, 2018)Geekfest 4. Smooth like water, fruity beginning, “dark” and slightly peaty. Very subtle and hard to classify. Is it plain or more complex than we realize? The jury is out.
