N: quite good. Vanilla, berries. There is unfortunately also some hint of the off taste which makes itself known on the palate P: typical bourbon flavors of vanilla are hidden beneath some off flavor that I can’t quite place. It’s not bad, but takes this one from a decent (although not exciting) bourbon to one that I can’t say I’d order even if it were the only option. F: that off taste lingers and shows some component of artificial sweetener

Tasted blind, poured by wife N: strawberry, vanilla, pear P: smoke, mint, vanilla, orange F: light blended scotch, vanilla cream Overall some interesting flavors came out but it was pretty light without much depth. The flavors were okay but not excellent. Some smoke came with the first sip but never came back, which definitely threw me off. Overall, decent but not one I would buy again

Sipped alone and lit a cigar halfway through, which (obviously) could affect taste N: light cream. Pears. P: delicious cream. Light notes of coffee. Candied fruits and the texture feels like granulated sugar with cigar. More pears come out pretty overtly F: vanilla lingers and slight burn shows up late. Not unpleasant. 0-1.5: Disgusting. Worth only mixing or meeting the drain. 2: Bad. Drinkable, but majorly flawed 2.5: Sub-par. OK, but bland or somewhat flawed. 3: Good. Decent stuff, but I won’t be rushing to buy it 3.5: Very good. I’d love to keep a bottle around 4: Excellent. I would like to own a case. A go to for me that is worthy of celebrating 4.5: Incredible. Truly high end, elite level, very noteworthy 5: Sublime. Nearly perfect and an all time favorite

High West 14 Year Light Whiskey
Other Whiskey — Indiana (bottled in Utah), USA
Reviewed January 31, 2019N: sweet corn, caramel, astringent alcohol P: smooth, slightly oily Werther’s original up front. Sweet cream corn. Like slightly melted butter in its texture. Off brand cinnamon hard candy at the end. F: lingering, delicious caramel. Cream. Butter. Overall: very one dimensional, get extraordinarily delicious in its sweetness and viscosity in a way that makes you keep coming back. The smoothness and dessert-like quality make it a fantastic pour despite its one dimensional quality 0-1.5: Disgusting. Jefferson's Ocean Aged at Sea Voyage 16
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 30, 2019 (edited February 9, 2019)Had yesterday so going from memory: N: strong, can almost smell it from a few feet away. Typically bourbon vanilla and caramel with some alcoholic burn mingling P: unexpectedly light and floral. Rosey taste with some more scotch like notes. Probably some placebo effect going on but in some ways reminds me of an ocean breeze. F: the light, breezy, floral notes evolve into more classic bourbon notes of vanilla and caramel, more in line with what the nose would suggest. Overall: I’m sure there were more complexities, but hard to recall the day after. Overall this is a good bourbon, but the rating comes in lower because it’s not what I personally would look for in a bourbon. Could probably garnish a 3-3.5 based on novelty and decent flavors/complexity. I wouldn’t seek out a bottle myself, but would buy a glass for the right price 0-1.5: Disgusting. A go to for me that is worthy of celebrating 4.5: Incredible.Truly high end, elite level, very noteworthy 5: Sublime.
