High West Campfire (Discontinued)
Blended American Whiskey — (bottled in Utah), Multiple Countries
Reviewed October 28, 2014For novelty purposes I enjoy this one. The name says it all. I don't whip this guy out just to have a pour. It comes out on special occasions such as a cold night of camping or a a campfire in my back yard and that is basically it. The flavor to me is over powered by smoke. The more I drink it however I can better sense the rye but just barely. Not a bad drink but certainly not a go to. -
Copper Fox Original Rye Whiskey
Rye — Virginia , USA
Reviewed October 23, 2014 (edited June 4, 2016)I was really suprised by this. Great flavors over all with quite a bit if fruit. Apple I think stands out. I'm still learning the differences. The one quirk is that the smokey taste seems a bit off. Like a pork butt done in a crock pot with liquid smoke, it's still good but just not the same as if it was done in a smoker. Just my two cents. -
The 100% corn makes this a very different drinker. Corn is obviously very noticeable throughout but it doesn't overpower the other flavors too much with vanilla being the second most prominent. I like to keep a bottle of this at my house because it's different and when I'm in the mood where my pallet thinks everything tastes the same I got for this.

Fruit and floral to me are noticed in smell as well as taste. The finish is awesomely clean and crisp for me. It emulates scotch to me and although I am not a huge scotch fan, this is what I keep in my house for myself when the mood hits and for friends who prefer a scotch over bourbon. But beyond my personal liking I think this Japanese whiskey hit the ball out of the park.
