You get this pic of some Legos because this app is so buggy I can't seem to take a picture, though my bottle looks just like the one in the primary pic. It's bourbon. Nothing extra or fancy, but solid. The first words that spring to mind are "sweet and sour" which sounds weird but it works. Just a straight sample and a rock so far, I expect this will work well in anything I decide to use it for.

Distiller note: I bat maybe 50% finding what I'm drinking here. I picked up a small bottle of "Elijah Wood Small Batch" at my rural VT liquor store and the only thing close in Distiller is this localized version from somewhere else. It takes me too long to add something every time. Try the Untappd model. That said...smooth, sweet. Oak, caramel, a little smoke. Very easy. Smooth sipper. I want to put this against the Eagle Rare. Thumbs up.

I really enjoyed this. Super fruity nose that disappeared once it hit my mouth (I didn't see the wine barrel finish at first). Then evolved into a sweet but not cloying brown-butter-marshmallow-treat. Almost a "dessert" bourbon but not a novelty.

A very special, use appropriately whiskey. Neat, it's challenging. Burn + prunes and other ripe fruit. Some ice and all kinds of things blossom. Layers on layers. Because, one presumes, of it's barreling, you can spot almost everything here except maybe smoke. I made one Manhattan with it and it was a bad match (as likely my fault as anything). Walk the tightrope between neat and distracted and there is magic. So far, it works best as a second drink of the evening, one good cube.

Same BT mouth feel. Would love to learn if this batch matches one of their other 100s(?) of single barrel offerings elsewhere to compare. Slightly sweet, not a long finish at all. There's a blank spot in there I can't describe.

Coming off an Eagle Rare, very similar. An interesting note this evening: melon!

Smooth, caramel, tobacco and smoke.

So easy, makes an excellent reference point.
