It's the George T Stagg of Scotland... Leave it on your tongue and it will burn your tastebuds into a state of numb submission. You could add water but what's the point of that when there's perfectly good saliva in your mouth? Feel the burn, embrace the burn, enjoy the burn then linger in the nice sherry moment before you swallow and give the old liver a one/two... Buy it, drink it respect it.

This is the real deal for a 12yo. Very nice $179 at Dan Murphy's, everyone else seems to charge $250+. At $179 I should have grabbed more than 3 but at $250+ I'd pass as there are better options. I much prefer this to the distillers version which I found too sweet. Of course drinking both of them at the same time doesn't hurt...

Reviewed August 3, 2016 (edited November 3, 2018)Drinking this inspired me to buy the normal rare cask. This one I loved, the standard rare cask I found insipid. This is 48% of un-chill filtered goodness. I couldn't detect the smoky/peaty taste that reviewers talk about though. I thought maybe my bottle just didn't show it but I tried it again from a different bottle in a whisky tasting with some serious tasters and no one got the smoke as such. In any case it's delicious! Two bag it with a Talisker 25 and evolve... -
Elijah Craig 18 Year Single Barrel Bourbon

Reviewed May 29, 2016 (edited April 24, 2018)Drank this on a session at Baxter inn Sydney. Didn't mind it at first and I like the barrel strength version but I found this one way too sweet. Long story short there's better out there. Didn't take long till I moved back to Macallan.
