Tastes

For me smoky/peaty aroma; a bite on the tip of the tongue at first taste, which is all about peat. Middle impression is sweetish fullness with iodine notes. The finish is long, peaty, warm, satisfying. I never tire of this; it's quite special.

An inexpensive choice for cocktails and fun to have around for comparison purposes since it's the foundation for so many other products. It's a little harsh for sipping, but I do sometimes to reset my baseline.

The spice and proof make this very nice for cocktails. (Stands up to cider, ginger, maple flavors very well.) I find it a little harsh for sipping neat.
