Tastes

Nose: Spicy cinnamon, chocolate, a touch of maple, some wood varnish. Palate: Good mouthfeel, sweet vanilla and corn, caramelised nuts. Finish: Oak and cinnamon with a balanced heat.

Nose: Tart, almost citrusy aroma. Some stone fruit and sherry notes. Palate: Creamy, slightly thick mouthfeel. The sensation of licking salt but not the flavour. Toffee and spicy pepper. Finish: Salted caramel. Faint citrus peel.

Nose: Milk chocolate, caramel and wafer biscuits. It reminds me of Tunnock's wafer caramel. A touch of spiciness. Palate: Soft. Chocolate covered spicy ginger. Finish: The spices increase in intensity and introduces some stewed apple.

Nose: Sweet conference pear, shortbread, dried grass. Palate: Slightly oily mouthfeel. Sweet, toffee covered nuts. Malty. Finish: Peppery, lasting orchard fruit. Warming.

Nose: Superb red apple, vanilla, berry fruit, subtle oak. Palate: Creamy, cherry, pear, ginger. Caramel on a revist. Finish: Grapes, oak, red apple. A slight dryness.

Nose: Floral and grainy with a delicate smoke. Palate: Spicy, with ginger especially. Green orchard fruits. Finish: Loads of tobacco and sweet smoke. The ginger heat lingers.

Nose: Briny, dark chocolate, traces of meaty smoke. Palate: Oily mouthfeel. Sweet honey roasted nuts, some dried citrus fruits. A gentle smoke but it's not the main attraction. Finish: Salty sea air, honey cured ham.

Nose: Sweet juicy red fruit and a touch of crisp apple. Vanilla leaps out on the retro nasal. It's worth a repeat nosing. Palate: Soft body with a nice almost creamy mouthfeel. Flavours of sweet malt, red berry fruits, raisins maybe.. vanilla and a floral note. Finish: Very easy finish, no burn or harsh notes. I'm left with the sensation of having just eaten a handful of raisins. This drinks like a 40% it's very approachable and doesn't leave anything unpleasant. Some will say that means it lack character but each to their own. I like it.

Nose: Dark honey and roasted pineapple notes. Dried fruit. Wafts of light ashy smoke. Palate: Creamy mouthfeel. Malt and dark chocolate with plenty of oak barrel spices. Finish: The spices intensify with a sweet papery dried fruit - like the skin of a date - with some gentle smoke right at the end.

Nose: Rich and nutty with citrusy orange peel. Palate: Nice and slighty oily. Caramelly with dark fruits. Finish: Spicy with dried red fruits. Some salty butter on toast.
