Campbeltown Loch Blended Malt Scotch Whisky
Blended Malt — Campbeltown, Scotland
Reviewed February 3, 2024Nose: Briny, dark chocolate, traces of meaty smoke. Palate: Oily mouthfeel. Sweet honey roasted nuts, some dried citrus fruits. A gentle smoke but it's not the main attraction. Finish: Salty sea air, honey cured ham. -
Nose: Sweet juicy red fruit and a touch of crisp apple. Vanilla leaps out on the retro nasal. It's worth a repeat nosing. Palate: Soft body with a nice almost creamy mouthfeel. Flavours of sweet malt, red berry fruits, raisins maybe.. vanilla and a floral note. Finish: Very easy finish, no burn or harsh notes. I'm left with the sensation of having just eaten a handful of raisins. This drinks like a 40% it's very approachable and doesn't leave anything unpleasant. Some will say that means it lack character but each to their own. I like it.
