Really nice nose, sweeter but still hints of beam. Palate starts with the same sweetness of caramel, brown sugar and vanilla. But the burn comes fast and it lasts. Very different from start to finish.

Found this barrel pick in Chapel Hill, NC. Very solid wheated bourbon, especially for $35. Reminded me of the Rebel Yell 10yr. My guess is if you did a blind taste test with this bottle and Weller SR, more people would pick this.

Haven’t had this in a while and pleasantly surprised. I want to not like it because people go so crazy over it (in NC at least), but it’s just a really solid bourbon for under $30. Definitely prefer it to Eagle Rare.

Wow, this one is different! So many friends comment on this so I finally broke down and picked one up. As soon as you pop the top you can tell it’s going to be different. Very sweet- vanilla, brown sugar and maple for days. Unlike a lot of brown water, the palate is almost exactly like the nose. If you served this to someone in a blind taste test, I would have a hard time believing they would guess it’s a rye, unless they’ve had it before, because the taste is one of a kind. Definitely diversifies my collection.

First pour of this one. Nose is nice but not very forward. I was surprised how smooth this bourbon was given the high rye content and higher proof. Doesn’t overpower you at all. Very nice sipper that anyone can enjoy.
