Tastes

First taste: neat. Too strong for me!! Went straight to diluting, about 2 parts scotch, 1 part chilled water. Now, too dilute. Second taste: 1 cube ice. I let it fully melt. Really opens up the drink. Nose is light, floral. Palate is briny, salt water, campfire, peat, band-aids. Not overpowering with the ice, and also not too watered down. Very unique, very good. If you like Laphroaig, give this a try.

Salty and smoked fish nose. Palate was not as expected based on what I smelled. Campfire and salt water with the Highlands hiding in the background. Interesting taste. Doubtful I’d buy again, not that it isn’t good, because it is, it just is not my preference.

Being a fan of GoT, I had to buy this. After tasting, I can now say I had to regretfully buy this. Nose is sweet and light with a hint of chemical. Bland flavor for the most part. Strong vanilla notes. Chemical and acid finish that lingers. I tried this neat, as I prefer my scotch that way. Perhaps chilled/frozen as marketed will change the flavor profile. Will update if/when I try it again. Yes, you heard me right.

Fruit, vanilla, peat. Light lingering smokiness. Pear nose

A great blend of fruit and peat. Vanilla notes added in with apples and pears, touch of floral. All on a background of peat that finishes strong towards the end. Smoky after taste and breath. Now a staple in my collection.

Charcoal and smoke. Smooth finish. Could be a regular for me at this price

Apples and tartness. Won’t be tasting again.

Floral and fruity. Not as peaty as I expected from Lagavulin, but some smokiness to the end. Good, but too fruity for my preferences in an Islay.
