Tastes

This was a single barrel select from Passion Vines W-1, F-06, R-056. Distiller would not let me add it. Tastes of cherry, vanilla, and oak. Lingering taste of honey. Some milk chocolate on the back end. Very smooth for 120 proof.

Sweet, vanilla, kick up front with a smooth finish. Slightly spicy. Overall good.

Sweet caramel, vanilla, brown sugar. Small peppery bite on the back end. Nice for light sipping.

Well balanced complex mix of flavors that support the rye but tone down and shorten the finish. Toasted grains, rye spice, caramel, malt. Slightest hint of red fruit. Great for sipping.

Bitter, oak, vanilla, molasses, somewhat sweet, hot alcohol. Not too bad, but I thought it was just okay.

Fantastic taste for the price. Toffee, oak, herbs, leather. Great to sip on.

Dark and sweet. Not a conventional rye. Taste of dark red fruits, slight wine taste to it, vanilla and spices. The sweetness can be overbearing after a few but nice taste for a small glass.

Caramel, vanilla, charred wood, sweet corn, hint of brown sugar. Not the smoothest but not bad.

Smells of caramel, vanilla, charcoal, maple and charcoal. Hint of a chemical smell. Tastes sweet with vanilla, maple, brown sugar, and charcoal. Chemically and syrupy with a minimal burn. Finished with a resonating syrupy sweetness. Not at all a sipping whiskey, but a cheap option for mixers or a long night of shots straight from a bottle.

Very light for a 10 year. My personal favorite after sampling most of the available whiskeys from them. Sweet corn vanilla flavor right away followed by floral notes and dissipates to caramel and oak notes. You taste the American corn style up front and the bourbon barrel age on the finish.
