Wild Turkey Rare Breed Barrel Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 1, 2022 (edited May 8, 2022)This is an unbelievable bourbon for the price. Nose is simpler but on the palate, explosion of brown sugar, oak, wax and cola. Finishes with dark toffee, burnt oak and hazelnut. -
Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost and Rare Glenury Royal
Blended — Scotland
Reviewed May 22, 2020 (edited November 2, 2022)Tropical fruit on the nose, ripe banana, caramel and smoke. Sweet on the tongue, Sherry notes prominent and finishes with peppery and vanilla notes. Lovely to drink - could be a little more complex. -
Eyes: deep yellow golf - very pleasant hue Nose: honey notes, floral, slight nuttiness, very slight hint of petrol - super pleasant Mouth: opens with more honey, spices (cloves, nutmeg), slight hint of Sauternes and moves on to wood, light pepper. Finishes with light cigar butt and lingering honey and raisin - long finish

Balblair 1991 3rd Release
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed May 6, 2020 (edited July 5, 2021)Beautiful initial nose - opens with a ton of sweet floral notes and honey with a hint of vanilla and oil. Leads with sweetness and wood then explosion of spice (pepper) on the palate. Long finish with chewed cigar ending. A lot of good things happening here. -
Nose: molasses, caramel, oak, sweet raisin Taste: oak, brown sugar, a little bit of that oily speyside scotch note Finish: a light whisper of brine and dried fruits - bitter oak note lingers in mouth and slightly metallic ending. Medium-long finish. Great bourbon. Finish could be a bit longer. Did not get much of the briny note that others have observed.
