Resilient 15 Year Single Barrel Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Tennessee , USA
Reviewed November 7, 2020Some barnyard funk in here. The corn comes through strong but its almost like a grungy bin of feed corn half devoured by livestock. Not a fan. -
Johnnie Walker A Song of Ice
Blended — Scotland
Reviewed November 5, 2020 (edited November 28, 2020)I really enjoy this when I want something relaxed. I used it to introduce Scotch to friends who said they didn't like Scotch. Worked like a charm. It's rich and full, sweet and floral without getting syrupy. Tropical fruits.20.0 USD per Bottle -
This is excellent. I rarely get the cherry notes a lot of other reviewers mention, but this explodes with cherry to me. 6 years old and it tastes properly matured, not aggressive and angry like so many young bourbons. Well balanced, full and rich, not terribly spicy or overly sweet.60.0 USD per Bottle

Islay 2008 9 Year Cask #20084 (The Exclusive Malts)
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed June 16, 2019I'm pretty sure this is Caol Ila. it's got that mid-strong peat and oily character I remember from Caol Ila 12. water helps as its very potent stuff. there is a sweetness under the peat that makes me want to not put down the glass. I hope they have some left when I go back.
