Massive, unfiltered, double-barreled blast of a bourbon. Heat and spicy notes immediately evident on the nose. Intense heat and flavors overwhelm palate, but a few more sips allow the senses to appreciate rich, multi-layered flavor: spice, cinnamon, oak, a little vanilla, oil, butter. Delicious finish lasts a long time. A touch of water can make this unfiltered heater more approachable. Not for everyone or every mood, but when craving a big, bold roller coaster ride of a pour there's little better!

Light, subtle, yet interesting. Was a little disappointed by my first couple sips, as the finish wasn't strong and the port wine flavor wasn't immediately obvious. Take some extra time, though, and the flavor profile emerges. Nice mix of fruit, spices, candy, and the port wine note lingers a bit. Def worth checking out.

Knob Creek 9 Year Single Barrel Reserve
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 8, 2019 (edited August 28, 2019)Strong vanilla nose. Packs some serious heat on the palate, yet quite bearable for something this high proof. A few drops of water can unlock some of the subtler notes for those not used to the heat. Lots of spice and oak (but not overwhelming), some toffee and raisins too. Long lasting finish. Great choice for someone looking to move up from small-batch Knob or similar bourbons - and you can find it in stock too. Just brilliant overall.
