Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Brandy Cask Finish
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 16, 2017Not as much going on as I would have hoped. Light and sweet up front before brandy finishing lingers on the short finish. Worth a try, but not worth the cost of a full bottle. -
Belle Meade Bourbon Sherry Cask Finish
Bourbon — Indiana (bottled in Tennessee), USA
Reviewed January 1, 2017 (edited April 24, 2018)Sherry notes are prevalent on the nose along with red fruits. Super smooth on the palate with more fruit notes to pair with standard caramel Bourbon flavors. Hardly any burn at all. Sherry influence is obvious throughout, with just a touch of smoke lingering on the finish that reminds me a bit of scotch. Delicious bourbon. -
Smooth Ambler Old Scout Single Barrel Cask Strength Bourbon
Bourbon — USA
Reviewed December 24, 2016Solid proof with a nice classic nose, I get a lot of alcohol and vanilla. The taste left a little to be desired for me, with a smoky flavor that was likely clove but hinted at a peaty scotch. Interesting. Not my favorite, but I can see why others are fans. -
Four Roses Limited Edition Small Batch Bourbon (2016)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 10, 2016 (edited April 24, 2018)Fantastic bourbon. Nose may be the best of any Bourbon I have had, mix of fruits with a classic caramel and vanilla base. On the palate it's robust at 110 proof but still perfectly balanced with great sweetness. Dried fruits and classic vanilla flavors are smooth and delicious.
