Baker's Single Barrel Bourbon 7 Year
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 27, 2022 (edited May 13, 2022)Peppery / char nose. Sweet (can’t put a finger on what the sweet is - maybe it is a lingering cherry; I’m not picking up vanilla). Viscous palate with a mild spice finish. Reminds me a lot of a milder Booker’s with less spice / heat.59.99 USD per Bottle -

Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch C921
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 3, 2022 (edited May 12, 2022)Phenomenal! One of my favorite bourbons to date. Smooth with a bit of lingering heat, cinnamon and sweetness. Didn’t try any water this time to open it up, as I enjoyed this one as is. Kind of a grassy / earthy (maybe somewhat minty) aftertaste. -
Old Forester 1897 Bottled In Bond
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 20, 2021 (edited November 1, 2022)Super smooth sipper neat or with a few drops. Hints of vanilla and brown sugar, a little heat on the end. I have yet to find another bourbon with this great velvety/oily texture and mouthfeel. 01/02/2022 Sip (neat) - after taste of banana / bread -
Bernheim 7 Year Original Wheat Whiskey
Wheat Whiskey — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 24, 2021 (edited December 29, 2021)First bottle, poured neat. Pour #1 neat was … meh. Pour #1A: added a small cube and it brought out a lot of sweet complexities that weren’t there neat (vanilla primarily). Also just plain enjoyed this whiskey colder. Finishes with a mild oak heat. Great price. I’ll have to try a blind tasting with this against Woodford’s (maybe WSR) to see which wheat wins.28.99 USD per Bottle -
Tasted neat at first. Straight heat w/ leather/oak finish. Ended up throwing a medium cube in to let it cool down a bit and and it brought out some cherry and lighter caramel on the palate. Finish has heat regardless :) Tasted again a few weeks later (10/26) with a large cube and wow did this open up; it was straight brown sugar. End was kind of like peanut butter. Phenomenal.89.99 USD per Bottle

Old Elk Wheated Bourbon (Barrel 1247 Specially Selected for Virginia ABC)
Bourbon — Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
Reviewed August 27, 2021This is just… wow. So impressed. First pour, drank neat, no drops, no rock. Somewhat smokey / oaky nose. Taste: toffee / caramel up front on the palate; sweet, buttery finish (esp. for 57% ABV) and is absolutely delicious.
