Woodinville Straight Bourbon Port Cask Finish
Bourbon — Washington, USA
Reviewed March 25, 2020 (edited September 23, 2020)After multiple tastings here is the Port finish review: Nose: Carmel, jammy port, roast nut, corn dust and a boozy funk Palate: creamy mouth feel, more port, a sour note, drying oak, powdered sugar Finish: okay, sour grape, black pepper, waxy Walnut and notes of PBJ. A very pleasant dram, would buy a backup bottle if I was local. -
Nose presents as dusty sweet corn with notes of Carmel, peanut shells and a rich boozy note. The palate gave me corn, oak, tartness with dark brown sugar and cinnamon in the mid palate. Finishing with more oak, understated butterscotch and a hint of cinnamon. Neck pour, very consistent with the last bottle I had summer 2019.47.0 USD per Bottle

Larceny Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch A120
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 4, 2020 (edited March 8, 2020)One of the intriguing wheaters I've had recently with RC6 & WSR. The nose presented to me with wheat dust I get on all wheaters follow with vanilla, baking spice, malted chocolate and oak char bordering on BBQ. The palate experience oak with a cinnamon pop, a softened coffee bitter, red fruit and an ethanol note that gave way to black pepper. The finish is medium and creamy with notes of cappuccino, bitter chocolate nibs, and a tarty tannic oak. Much better than the standard Larceny and complex enough to justify a repurchase at or near retail. -
