This is a fine porch bourbon on a warm summer evening with som scents from Jasmine or lilac nearby. It actually reminds me a bit of Blanton's Gold Edition. But half the price. Will buy again. N: Nutty/walnut. Maraschino cherries. Rich, deep and sweet. Apple/almost calvados notes. Dusty. Vanilla. Sun-ripened wild strawberries. Figs. P: Instant sweet. Sour mash feel. Spice forward. Caramel candy laces. Candied pecans. Salty caramel. F: Charr. Slight rye bite. Roasted corn. Dry cheeks from alcohol more than tannins. Goes away pretty fast. Some aftertaste of virginia pipe tobacco. With water: N: Peanuts. More vanilla. Rum barrel feel. P: Sweeter. More caramel candy. More fruity. Charr. Slightly rye bitter. F: Charr is moving up and back to the soft palett. More oak. The pipe tobacco feel goes more to mild vanilla flavoured cigarill.599.0 SEK per BottleSystembolaget

N: Malty cereal notes. Light gooseberry and nutmeg. Palpable weak peat on a distance. Open up with some green typical gin herbs (grapefruit, coriander and lavender) after a while. The whole nose is young and thin. P: Pretty short sweetnes. Goes from rubber boot to ashy and peated sherry in a discrete way. Some orange peel in there aswell i think. Not as thin as the nose. F: This is where this Swedish blend shine i reckon. Mellow sherry and peat. Dry tannins and i think it is the chessnut playing around in the back. Medium to long finish id say. This is straight bang for the buck.299.0 SEK per BottleSystembolaget

Beaver's Dram Canadian Rye Whisky Port Wood Finish
Rye — Ontario, Canada
Reviewed March 22, 2024 (edited March 23, 2024)N: Sweet woody maple, peppery, marzipan and cherry(not sherry.) Some sweet old pipe tobacco. P: Rye spice, sweet and musty tree sap, Very plesant mouth and good bite. Port wood shines through. Slight spearmint if you keep it a bit longer in your mouth. F: Dry tannins, leather, some kind of rubber/plastic in a good way. Ceder wood maby. Id say medium to long finish. This might be my new favorite next to Rittenhouse. No tones of dill pickles.. Will buy again.402.0 SEK per BottleSystembolaget -
Nose: Light vanilla notes, oak, a little berry. Mouth: Vinous, yeasty, possible autumn apple, yellow overripe pears. Somewhat thin and boozy but quite peppery, which gives a nice balance. Sweetness reminiscent of pure white dog. Finish: Light oak, slightly bitter and spirity. Not great fun but works. Overall: A dram I think does better in the lighter months of summer. An alternative that I think is reminiscent of this is Teeling Rum Cask.499.0 SEK per BottleSystembolaget fruängen

Nose is amazing. Orange peel, elderflower, apricott, and raisins. Mouth would have been a winner if it wasnt so mild. Honey, walnut, apples and citrus peels. Feels super watered down and light. Love the flavours though but want more of everything. Finish is dry, short and fruity. As always im curious about the cask strength here.299.0 SEK per BottleSystembolaget

I get a pretty classic rye on smell, mouth and finish. Was expecting more musty and rich oak. A bit rubbery at first then quiet harsh, minty and a bit sweet. The finish stays for a pretty long time and got that paint/glue/linseed oil-feel. Not necessary in a bad way. Overall its ok but did not beat my rye of choice, Rittenhouse.499.0 SEK per BottleSystembolaget

Type: Straight bourbon Distillery: Jim Beam ABV: 50% (100 proof) Mashbill: 77% corn, 13 % rye, 10% malted barley. Age: NAS (Non age statement) Nose, palate and finish are all very classic. You know... Vanilla, brown sugar, caramel, toasted oak etc. Neither bad or overwhelming. Reminds me pretty much of Wild Turkey 101 tho the mash bills are almost the same. Knob Creek feels a bit more unbalanced and spiky. Its a good bourbon, just not a favorite.499.0 SEK per BottleSystembolaget

Wild Turkey Bourbon 101
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 25, 2023 (edited September 21, 2023)I had high expectations on this one and boy did i love it!? Having Wild Turkey 101 to a bourbon enthusiast is like open a box of really nice chocolate. You feel that rich smell and dont know where to start while your brain is performing lucky somersaults. To some of you yankees out there WT 101 might be an average mid shelf. But for a scandinavian living with a pretty limited bourbon scene this is liquid gold. I gotta do a blind test between WT 101 and Elijah Craig Small Batch in the future. Well, with that said.... Class: Straight Bourbon Distillery: Wild Turkey (Owned by Campari Group) Mashbill: 75% corn, 13% rye, 12% malted barley. ABV: 50,5% (101 proof) Age: NAS (Non age statement) 6-8 years. Nose: Rich notes of vanilla and toffee. Pretty deep oak and sweet maple syrup. Spiky ethanol. Palate: Fokus on the classic bourbon notes and nails pretty much all of them in a very professional way. Theyre all there. Vanilla, toasted oak, balanced rye bite, medium deep caramel. Nothing complex but they sure know their buttons. Finish: The dress of vanilla and rye is coming off real gently and leave dry tannic oak i the cheeks. Maby a bit too dry but i can live with it. Overall: A solid standard giving you a good moment of satisfaction. Nothing fancy, just really professional made. Wild Turkey 101 will always have a place in my shelf.459.0 SEK per BottleSystembolaget
