Tastes

Fantastic on the nose, unique and hard to describe. The taste only furthers this great experience. It's smooth with pleasant sweet notes similar to caramel and ends with a pepper like follow up. The entire experience from beginning to end is smooth and flawless. I do not believe a better whiskey exist for less than $45 dollars.

On the nose it's clean and sweet with a hint of pepper. Taste is extremely smooth with a lighter feel. Hints of banana and brown sugar, followed by a familiar spice/ pepper taste Overall very enjoyable. Great on the nose and smooth through the whole experience. The lighter feel is unique for a non chill filtered bourbon in my experience. Would Recommend it.

Very rich in flavor, sweet with vanilla and as well as many other sweeter overtones. Very smooth and at times when sipping I find myself forgetting there is even any alcohol in it. Jim Beam really out did themselves on this.

On the nose this it's more unassuming, however wants you begin to sip it you find yourself trapped in the amazing flavors. It maintains a smooth sweetness that feels natural and pure on the tong, while simultaneously delivering a spice that you expect to have in a rye. It completed this all while hiding the high alcohol content with the smoothness of drink. This rye comes out of the original Old Crow distillery. As far as ryes go, this is by far one of the best ryes I have had.

I've had select 16 year, 15 year, and 14 year. All 3 of them were absolutely amazing. Not only were the notes of spice unique to each bottle, all in their own right, yet at the same time sharing the common ground that you expect to find in Knob Creek. I will always buy any single barrel select I find due the consistent high quality, high content bourbon that maintains nice, invigorating notes of spice while delivering on a clean and smooth heat as an after affect.

The first pour of this I was disappointed, there were no significant notes of any specific flavor or spice that I could pick up. However as I have had more of it I have found love for how unique it is. This release is so smooth and clean, but in regards to flavor, all I can say is it taste like whiskey. Just whiskey to it's core. Pure, smooth whiskey. Nothing else, and that in itself is truly an accomplishment. My favorite use of this whiskey is to make a old fashioned, which when using this pour they are typically especially delicious.

Sweeter than most eyes, offers a very smooth finish with oak notes. More of a unique rye compared to most I have had so some of the notes are hard to pick up, but as a whole, a fantastic pour

For the price point and ease of finding, it has became a go-to for me when looking for a high quality pour. Very smooth yet distinct spicier tones throughout while maintaining a cherry like flavor throughout the entire tasting experience.

Very smooth for percentage, had a sweeter after taste while still maintaining the heat one expects from a 46% alcohol. Leaves a longer after taste than most I've had but it is pleasant.
