A very polarizing rye for some reason but IMO the one best sub $100 bottles I have tried. Nice cinnamon forward complexity with the perfect amount of bite. A few drops of water opens it up a lot.

A drinkable, inoffensive 3-4 star bourbon in a five star bottle...considering how long bottles stay on my shelf that counts for a lot. Buy it if you see it in the $40-50 range.

Bold, brash flavor but too young and rough for my tastes. Pretty decent mixer in a Sazerac though.

A bit overpriced for what it is but a solid, fruit forward sipper nonetheless. The surprise winner of several blind taste tests at my home.

Subpar juice in a nice package. I understand the need for a low proof gateway bourbon for wine drinkers looking to expand their palate to other spirits, but frankly this is a terrible introduction. Buy Buffalo Trace for less instead.

I tried to like this, I really did. Neat, rocks, Old Fashioned...just couldn’t get past that Windex finish so it ended up going down the drain. The only positive thing I can say about it is that the learning experience only cost me $27.

A little soft for my tastes at 80 proof but a nice sipper to have around as a first pour or for whiskey newbies. Nice classic BT caramel flavor - as far as low proofers go it simply blows Basil Hayden away.

Ah...the low end of the high end. I like to do a flight with WSR, W12, W107, and ORVW to taste the different variants of the wheated mash bill. Obviously, it costs substantially more than Weller but for me you can really taste the difference in complexity. Plus, your friends will think you’re rich when they see it on your shelf...

I first tried THH on NYE 2018 at the House of Bourbon in New Orleans. Simply put...it was the best whiskey of any kind I’d ever tasted. I chalked it up to the moment but it stuck in my mind until I finally stumbled across a bottle for sale. I stand by my original impression...Pappy 15, Lot B, GTS, even the exalted BTAC Saz 18 y.o... you name it...they all fall under the bar that THH has set according to my tastes. If there is something better out there I surely can’t afford it. Five stars.
