Tastes

Fine low rye bourbon. Nothing much to report here besides that.

This one feels far worse than the other two in the set, but it still has some good caramel and spice. Doesn’t seem as refined as the others; this finish is clean but not nearly as smooth.

The complete other side of flavors from the 2019. This one goes hard into the toasty and roasty, with this one giving strong s’mores vibes in the nose. Still has that nice, clean finish though.

Stellar. Sweet but not cloying, smooth but not smothered. Finish is very, very clean too. This is my first taste of MM and it’s probably my preferred camp of bourbons so far.

I find this to be very jagged and peaky. Smoke doesn’t linger very long, not longer than the sweetness does. Finish is also kinda heated, and the overall flavor doesn’t feel coherent. For the price, it is probably very serviceable in cocktails, but I will likely always spend up to drink an Islay neat.

The high rye bill suits my palate. Still maintains the smoothness that I want out of bourbon though.

Solid. Very spicy on the finish, even for me.
