Weller Special Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 24, 2019 (edited March 15, 2020)First sniff gets complex notes, not sure what to place. Little bit sweet nose, but more of a floral/fruit nose than anything else. Awesome sweetness on tip of tongue on first sip, slight Woody notes but not heavy or noticeable. The sweetness is almost sickly as you keep drinking, it's good but a little strong. 4 drops of water adds a more fruit note on the smell. Mellows out the sweetness and kicks up the spice. Recommend a little water. Very good bourbon, but Bernheim is better.30.0 USD per Bottle -
Bernheim 7 Year Original Wheat Whiskey
Wheat Whiskey — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 24, 2019 (edited March 15, 2020)Sweet cherry note on first sniff, almost candy like. Stays on into following sniffs. Reminds me of something I can't place the smell. Lovely sweet taste with smokey leather flavor half way through. The woody flavor is not super strong, and the type of tree is not evident. Little bit spicy towards the finish but not super strong. Pleasant spice stays on tip of tongue. Adding 4 drops of water tones down the sniff but still pleasant. Flavor and notes are muttled but very pleasant still. Absolutely favorite bourbon under $30 in North Carolina.28.0 USD per Bottle
