Tastes

Very pleasant. Much heavier, darker tasting than I anticipated. I don’t often get notes or chocolate in whiskey, but I did here, chocolate cherry to be specific. Pleasant finish that gives way to some lighter notes of vanilla.

Instead of calling it a bit overrated, I’ll fall on my sword and say I just haven’t matured enough to acquire the taste. Corn on the nose and on the front of the tongue. Spicy up front, dry finish. Typical vanilla, oak, and some toffee. Hint of floral, fruity notes as well

Coming in hot. It’s rich, flavorful, and tastes like it’s been aged more than 6 years. I always put over ice. It’s complex and sure is an acquired taste. I’m starting to like it more and more

Smooth and very sweet. Strong notes of vanilla and caramel

Pleasant. Very sweet. A little salt at the end. Slight touch of smoke as well. Vanilla and caramel on the nose, more vanilla on the tongue.

Peat on the nose but late on the tongue. Spicier than other Islay scotches. A nice transition from spicy to Smokey sweet.

Competes with Lagavulin 16. Not quite as much smoke as Lagavulin 16, but smoother than Lagavulin 8. Less smoke let’s you pick up the vanilla, toffee, and slight briny notes.

Pleasantly surprising. Toasted oak, vanilla, and caramel on the nose. Warm spice, smoke, and leather on the front, with caramel and vanilla lingering all the way through to the finish.

Will put hair on your chest. Spicy all the way through, but mellows out at the last second to reveal a rich, caramel and oak flavor

Doesn’t taste quite like 100 proof. Subtle sweetness in the back, with front notes of oak and vanilla
