An atypical agricole when pitted against the AOC French island brands. A combination of both pot and colums stills and distilled from cane juice, it is a blend of Ron Agricola from San Juan Artisan Distillers and Alcoholes Finos Domincanos aged in American oak for 36 months. Pleasant and a bit less astringent than some agricoles, the complexity of the different stills shines through while maintaining the peppery, grassy notes of a traditional agricole. Long spicy finish.

Distilled and spiced by Nate Boring at Zoetropolis Cinema Stillhouse in Lancaster, PA, this rum uses locally sourced raw sugar and molasses and is rested in oak. Caramel and clove on the nose, it is pleasantly spiced with minimal burn and hints of vanilla and pepper on the finish. Good neat, even better with an ice cube or two.

This sweet coffee rum is produced and bottled at Old House Vinyards in Stevensburg/ Culpeper, VA. The coffee jumps right out on the nose and in reinforced with the first sip. The rum is a little hidden behind the coffee, but with an authentic coffee sweetness. Connoisseurs may turn up their noses, but for anyone who loves coffee and (sweet) rum, this is a wonderful glass on a cool night. The Old House winery/ brewery/ distillery is certainly worth a visit for anyone in the D.C. or Richmond, VA area.Old House Vineyards
