After letting sit for 20 minutes, to let initial alcohol drift away, taste is sweet but not sugary sweet. More berry sweet, from the Zin barrels? Strawberries, raspberries and raisins. With some vanilla and brown sugar. The finish is all oak with spice, in a good way, from the bourbon barrels I’m guessing. This is delicious and at 96 proof, perfect sipping rum. Think I just found my new favorite rum!

Nose is tropical sweet and spicy with tobacco. Taste is spicy, with cane sugar or molasses. Finish is a bitter chemical burn, but fades quickly. A lime and a sugar cube added makes a perfect tropical drink. I’ve tasted from the old style bottle purchased in Ecuador and the new style bottle purchased in Colombia and flavor is consistent in both.
