Balvenie Doublewood 12 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed December 29, 2014 (edited November 11, 2016)As a beginner to scotch tasting, this is my first attempt to writing a review. Tasted from a Glencairn, this Balvenie Doublewood felt delicate on the nose with notes of caramel, vanilla and cinnamon. With a few drops of waters, the caramel intensifies and notes of nuts rise slightly. In mouth, it is soft and not to hot on the tongue. Taste is of caramel as well with a hint of apple (i find). Finish is short and sweet with a bit of cinnamon that lingers gently in the center of the tongue. Was a great scotch to begin with.
