Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 28, 2020 (edited January 31, 2020)Heaven hills best offering to date but not for the beginner and not for the faint of heart. I recommend trying neat then adding a few drops of water to really pull the flavors out of here. BIG and BOLD should be this bourbons nickname as it will take you back a step when nosing or tasting. Verdict: Very very good stuff but beware the high proof and explosive nose and palate.60.0 USD per Bottle -
Blanton's Original Single Barrel
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 28, 2020 (edited February 1, 2020)I feel like the hunt for this bourbon adds to its legend. Sweet notes up front with a smooth finish that hides its proof after the initial heat of the first pull. One of the most iconic and best bottle presentations in the business (marketing at its finest). Warehouse H is a national treasure and this bourbon deserves all the accolades! Verdict: hard to find but worth every penny at retail or a little above!59.99 USD per Bottle -
For fans of BT mashbill #1 or low rye (<10%) this should be the go-to or “everyday” drinker. Smooth, vanilla, with just enough bite to remind you it’s 90 proof. Enjoy neat, with an ice ball, or in a cocktail. Verdict: if the low rye fits your flavor profile then you can’t go wrong here as a staple on the bar. Bonus: it won’t break the bank.23.99 USD per Bottle

Smooth and good flavor. Loses out in the fact that it doesn’t carry the traditional bourbon palate. Can tell it has been filtered as the mesquite and barrell really come out on the flavor profile. It’s a “have to be in the right mood” bourbon. Verdict: if you are in to bourbon and want something from wild turkey go for Russell’s single barrell, 101, or rare breed before you go here. But if you want a different experience this is a solid addition to the bar. Definitely sample before buying a bottle.
