Lagavulin 8 Year
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed November 20, 2022 (edited February 15, 2024)Smoky and smooth but more subtle than other Islay scotchs. Fruity at first with plenty of pear sweetness staying smooth until the finish where more of the spiciness comes out and the hint of smoke blossoms in to something stronger. -
This single malt scotch whisky highland, not peaty, is a very pale yellow and has a rich nose, marked by aromas of juicy white fruit, candied lemon zest and some floral notes. The palate is powerful and both slightly spicy and slightly sweet. The finish is long and sweet with a lot of freshness brought by the finishing in chardonnay barrel.
