Elijah Craig Kentucky Straight Rye
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 15, 2020 (edited February 6, 2021)This is a great rye. Blows away Wild Turkey 101. Deep, rich, spicy, sweet...it has it all. Time to buy another bottle. -
Tamdhu Batch Strength Batch 002
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed February 7, 2020 (edited February 27, 2020)Stunning. A value at $97.50. Deep, rich nose which is just the beginning. Fruit, or is that tobacco, maybe some peat? Beautiful, soft mouth feel. Nearly perfect. -
Old Pulteney Huddart
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed February 6, 2020 (edited February 8, 2020)Stephanie's review is quite accurate. Ripe bananas also on the nose. Wonderful balance and complexity all around. Nice long heat in the finish. I'm a fan of Old Pulteney, but this is a notch above in intensity and complexity. One of three bottles I brought back from the UK fall 2019. I hope it's available in the states soon (without stupid tariff). A great find!50.0 GBP per Bottle -
Talisker Port Ruighe
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed November 2, 2019 (edited February 8, 2020)As a big fan of Talisker, this is a great addition to the line. Having picked up a bottle for £55 in Oxford on a recent trip to the UK, I couldn't be happier. Vanilla, plums and Talisker smoke on the nose. Unmistakable Talisker character with waves of added charred fruit. I hope they release in the US before I polish off this bottle, which won't be long.67.0 USD per Bottle -
Not bad. Strong to be sure at 111 proof, but surprisingly drinkable neat. Adding water or ice helps a bit, but goes flat quickly. Not bad in a Manhattan (w/ Carpano Antica), but has a bit of odd perfume flavor up front. A dash of Elijah Craig helps with this. It shines in a Boulevardier at a 3/2/1 ratio with a dash of E.C. Not worth the $50 price point, but again, not bad.
