As a big fan of Talisker, this is a great addition to the line. Having picked up a bottle for £55 in Oxford on a recent trip to the UK, I couldn't be happier. Vanilla, plums and Talisker smoke on the nose. Unmistakable Talisker character with waves of added charred fruit. I hope they release in the US before I polish off this bottle, which won't be long.

Not bad. Strong to be sure at 111 proof, but surprisingly drinkable neat. Adding water or ice helps a bit, but goes flat quickly. Not bad in a Manhattan (w/ Carpano Antica), but has a bit of odd perfume flavor up front. A dash of Elijah Craig helps with this. It shines in a Boulevardier at a 3/2/1 ratio with a dash of E.C. Not worth the $50 price point, but again, not bad.

Not happy with this at all so far. Rubbing alcohol on the nose and follows on the palate. No age statement so I assume this is young. The ultimate test (Manhattan) is fair at best. Will revisit.

Lots of vanilla, baking spices and cinnamon on the nose. Rye spice and fruit on the palate. Good amount of heat going into a medium finish. Makes a fine manhattan, which is what I'm after.

A fine sipper with good heat, vanilla, honey and lots of rye. Medium finish. But, ill tempered when it comes to mixing. Does not play well with others! Will not buy again.

Intense burnt butterscotch on the nose. Very hot vanilla and butter on the palette with a hint of rye spice. Creamy mouth feel. Water calms the heat, but the finish remains long. Not much of a mixer, but a nice rye-ish sipper.
