This is my second pour if Mellow Corn. Still not overly impressed, but I find I am enjoying it a bit more this go round. This is sweet and simple. No unique tasting notes that really stand out. Mild and drinkable, with just a little oak barrel taste. Short finish, without any lingering bitterness. As a $11.99 bottle, it's a decent bargain.11.99 USD per Bottle

I didn't have time to make tasting notes upon my first pour of Stagg jr batch 14, but my quick take is that it's quite good. I was surprised by how sweet this barrel proof bourbon was. It's sweet maple syrup with a warm finish that will really heat you up. I'm not sure if this will supplant Rare Breed as my favorite barrel proof, but it's damn good. I can't wait for my next pour of Stagg Jr.

Old Forester 100 Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 7, 2020 (edited December 9, 2020)I accidentally picked this up at the store one day intending to grab Old Forester Rye. When I realized my mistake I was bummed, but after sipping on this multiple times over the last few months I'm glad I screwed up. I've reviewed with tasting details previously, so I'm not going to go into too much depth, but my point here is that this is a bargain. I put this close to my top bargain favorite, Wild Turkey 101. Not quite as rowdy as the thunder chicken, but smooth and fruity. Easy drinking even at 100 proof with no bitter aftertaste. Easily comparable to bourbons that are twice the price. Grabbing this bottle of Old Forester Signature was a fortunate little mistake that I'm happy to have made.21.99 USD per Bottle -
Tonight it was a Basil Hayden's bottle kill. I didn't enjoy the last pour quite as much as the first few pours, but this is still a solid if over priced bourbon. It's light, not too complex and not too sweet. A little basic bourbon flavors like caramel and vanilla, just nothing that gets me overly excited. There is a nice bit if rye spice, but it's subdued. The finish is short bitter sweet dark chocolate. This is a good sip, but maybe just a little lacking for the price point here in my state of Alabama. If you can get it for under $30, it's well worth the price.28.99 USD per Bottle

TINCUP American Whiskey
Other Whiskey — Indiana (bottled in Colorado), USA
Reviewed December 5, 2020 (edited February 8, 2022)I might call this Irish bourbon. It has the caramel sweetness of bourbon and a smoky malted taste that reminds me of Irish Whiskey. Super smooth, and sooo easy to drink. It's not going to blow you away with complexity, but it is very tasty. This is a great bottle if you're looking for something on the lighter side.24.99 USD per Bottle
