As a newbie to whiskey, this is a pretty rough introduction to peat. The smell is pungent and overpowering, but the taste is amazing, getting past the smell is like fog lifting to reveal a beautiful sunny day. Id compare ardbeg to like eating smoked brisket next to a dumpster. It’s delicious, but the smell kinda ruins it.

Truly a tasty whisky. Smooth as silk, rich and warm, with a creamy finish.

Not a bad whisky, notes of citrus, a slight harshness to the finish.
